How a book changed my mentality towards Reading

I am a person who never enjoyed reading since my childhood, let it be books or articles. Since the beginning, I have always preferred visuals such as animation, movies rather than books.

However, when I thought about how I could improve myself, I came across this book named “The Magic of Thinking Big” by David Schwartz. At first, I was quite excited to know what the author says on improving oneself as it’s a self-improvement book; after reading for some days and getting the fundamental idea, I stopped reading because I couldn’t push myself to complete it as I wasn’t a person who loves reading.

But the author depicted some stories in the book, and I could relate to it so well. That made me stick to the book, and after long 3 months, I finally finished reading the book. It was the first non-textual book that I completed reading. And after that, an unusual thirst arose inside me, and it was for more self-improvement books like that one. I browsed all those non-fiction books, and from then, I can proudly say that I’m now a person who loves reading. From books to articles, I spend at least 2 hours reading daily.

I’m sharing this mainly to let you all know that if you think a specific thing is not for you and why you should not bother doing that, I will encourage you to give it a shot -who knows, you might end up liking it like me.
